Besides general hardware design, I’ve been asked by Rena to dive into a multi-level signal integrity problem in an LED installation housing over five kilometers of custom LED strips.
Working on this project included:
• Root cause analysis of the problem (in the end caused by an inconvenient sum of 6 different factors).
• Proposing a solution minimally reproducing LED strips, taking into account cost, work and maintainability.
• Developing, calibrating and testing hard- and firmware for the solution. (Altium, STM32, ethernet.) Seen in the image below.
• Delivering a signal integrity / EOL tester for the 5% of strips that still needed to be produced.
